Hillcrest Cottage is a beautiful new luxury self-catering holiday cottage sleeping 4-6 set in the heart of the Suffolk Heritage Coast region. It incorporates stunning double height living areas and a fully glazed gable end overlooking outstanding open countryside views.

The bedrooms both have luxury en suites worthy of a boutique hotel, one double walk in shower and one free-standing bath with waterfall tap. A lovely private garden with comfortable patio furniture can be accessed through large sliding doors allowing seamless inside and outside living.

It has been furnished to a very high standard with all modern conveniences incorporated including ground level disability friendly access.

Underfloor heating throughout the cottage makes it a cosy all year round ideal getaway from the hustle and bustle of modern life.

A stunning double height, fully glazed gable end provides views over open countryside from the sitting area which is at the east end of the large open plan living accommodation. Two large sofas both of which convert into double beds for extra guests provide ample seating to watch DVD/TV or simply enjoy the double aspect views.

The south and east facing windows have fully opening sliding doors allowing indoor outdoor living in summer or simply great views during colder evenings.

Fantastic contemporary kitchen offering all modern conveniences and enormous space for entertaining.

The kitchen features a breakfast bar with seating for 4 people overlooking the gardens and southerly views.

It is equipped with oven, microwave, electric hob, dishwasher, large fridge/freezer.

The centre of the large open plan area features a large round glass dining table for family dining which can easily accommodate up to 6 people.

This is a gorgeous hotel style double bedroom with patio doors directly accessing the garden area, perfect for the morning sun. The curtains are blackout lined for those that need a dark room to sleep.

There is a walk in wardrobe with plenty of double height hanging space.

A lovely antique oak dressing table with large mirror provides the perfect spot to glam up for a night out.

The huge en-suite shower room has underfloor heating, heated towel rail, very large walk in shower and ample space for guests with any mobility issues to relax and enjoy the facilities.

Up the beautiful spiral stairs from the main living area is a second double bedroom in the eaves of the cottage. This features a glazed wall to allow views at second story height straight out over the fields through the glazed gable end.

It also has 2 large south facing velux windows with blackout blinds built in.

There is a gorgeous luxury freestanding bath in the en-suite including a delightful waterfall tap. The bathroom has electric underfloor heating if required.

This room also has a large wardrobe space built in for storage.

The utility room is accessed directly from the west patio area and includes a large laundry sink, a washer/dryer and a downstairs cloakroom. This is perfect for sorting out dogs after a walk in the fields. The patio has an outside tap should anyone need a proper hose down dog or human!

There is an ironing board and iron and a range of cleaning products.

Hillcrest has a totally private fenced garden wrapping around the cottage and encompassing two purpose built patio areas (not overlooked) one with sofa style garden furniture, the other with a circular dining area surrounded by the garden.

There is a pleasant grassed area for dogs (and people) to play.

The front of the cottage is south facing and affords beautiful views over the other gardens and fields beyond. There is a large area laid to patio with bench seating to just relax and enjoy a glass of wine or two.

Parking is on a private driveway area either in front of the cottage or of you prefer in the other large parking area shared with the Harvey’s Mill Cottage. There’s plenty of room to turn around and cars are over 100m off the public road.

Hillcrest guests are provided with a free welcome pack that comprises wine, homemade jam, homemade bread, homemade ginger biscuits, homemade chocolate biscuit cake, fresh fruit, orange juice, milk, real ground coffee and fresh flowers.

Linen

All bed linen and towels are provided included in the price, one bath towel, one hand towel and one face cloth per person and a bath mat per bathroom plus cloakroom hand towel and kitchen tea towels.

If the sofabeds are required then there is an extra charge of £50 per set of double bedlinen and towels.

We have luxury hotel style white bed linen and towels so we do ask that those fond of fake tanning products do not apply it while in the cottage or shortly before arrival as it has proved to be practically impossible to remove from towels and bedding and can cause hundreds of pounds of damage. We also ask that the white linen is not taken outside the cottage or used on pets.

Free Bicycle Hire

There are 2 mountain bikes available to guests at no extra charge (subject to availability). Safety equipment such as viz vests, gloves, helmets are provided also.

Electricity

We have no gas so all water and heating is electric, we read the meter before and after your stay and charge at the E.ON cost rate per unit. The tariff is economy 7 so night units are half the price of the day units. A tank of hot water is provided gratis before readings are taken. The costs are generally fairly minimal in summer £10-15 per week but obviously a little more in winter £30-40 per week when heating is required. The cottage is really well insulated throughout.
